Doing craft shows is good. It gives you a deadline, forces you to be productive–plus you can make a little money which is always nice. But boy does it wear me out. I usually need a week to recover, unpack everything, and get back to work. This time around I don’t really have a week to spare. We are doing another craft show in Cleveland on the 19th, and we are hoping to do a small holiday party/studio sale after that. I will just try my best to get as much work done as I can…
It also doesn’t help that there is something else on my mind…
Christmas!
My daughter is so excited. I wish I could spend all of my time making homemade gifts and decorations with her. I really really want to, but I am trying to put that off until I finish my work for the craft show. I just can’t wait to have some time to focus 100% on my family over the holidays. It’s going to be great.
Here is Saya’s Christmas list as she reported it today to Santa at the mall:
Kid’s car
Kid’s computer
Kid’s piano
Elmo book with CDs
Super Reader Costume with a mask
Princess Costume
Hammer (plastic squeaky kind like Lorenzo has)
and
Chipmunk
I am kind of stuck on the kid’s car. I think she is envisioning some kind of power wheels type thing, which I am pretty opposed to. It’s not that I think she has to get everything on her list, but the car is always the first thing that she mentions. Any ideas?

Automoblox are great kids’ cars – you can get the small ones for only $10. They are wooden and they come apart in a few pieces that you mix up the pieces of other cars to make a new car.
They sell them in a lot of different places; here’s the website:

Is she wanting one that she can ride in herself? What about a pedal-car?
Little Tikes makes good ride-in cars . They are kind of plastic-y, and might not fit with your aesthetic, but the kids push them around with their feet and they are VERY popular at my kids preschool.
Plantoys makes a really cute wood ride on/in car super durable and well priced. It was one of those toys I actually enjoyed seeing around the house and my son liked to play with.
Thanks Sharon! It is good to hear that the little tikes cars are popular at your kids’ school–I think that is what we are going to end up getting. I also checked out the Plantoys website, and everything is gorgeous. That’s where I am going to do Saya’s birthday shopping.
