It was a long time ago for me. All four of our kids are now over 21 (!). When our first went to kindergarden I still had other, younger children at home. When our youngest went off, and the house was empty, it felt sad and a bit of a relief at the same time. We had just moved to a different state, and so I was a bit lonely, missing my old friends, too. I got involved with a bit of volunteer work at school, but I also really enjoyed having mornings to sew and putter in the yard and do errands unencumbered. I remember looking forward to meeting Gretta at the bus stop and hearing all about her morning at school. It may take a while, but I’ll bet you will find a balance for yourself.

It is a beach on Lake Michigan. The sand was so soft and white. The weather was sunny and warm, not hot. It was lovely!
